
The OTHM Level 3 Diploma in Law aims to establish a foundational understanding of the legal system in England and Wales for students. Progressions
Successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Law qualification enables learners’ direct entry into Year 1 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree or pursue Level 4 Diplomas.
As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), many universities acknowledge the ability of learners after studying Level 3 Diploma in Law and consider for direct entry into a range of their Bachelor’s degree programmes.
The structure of the OTHM Level 3 Diploma in Law involves the completion of 6 mandatory units, accumulating to a total of 120 credits. This qualification encompasses 1200 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

The qualification is designed to be delivered over one academic year for full-time study, but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time and distance learning.
The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, online by approved centres only.
Assessment and verification:
Assessment and verification for this qualification involve internal assessment and quality assurance by the center, along with external verification by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, emphasizing the attainment of specified learning outcomes.
To pass a unit, learners must present evidence demonstrating fulfillment of all learning outcomes and meeting the standards outlined in assessment criteria. The assessor determines successful fulfillment based on judgment.
Assignment Brief documents, containing specific assessment guidance and relevant marking criteria for each unit, are promptly provided to centres upon learner registration. Assessors are required to maintain an audit trail, showcasing the process leading to the judgment of learners’ overall achievement.
