
This qualification is in close alignment with the Assessment and Quality Assurance specification, initially crafted by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) through collaborative consultations with awarding organizations, Sector Skills Councils, and professionals in learning and development. Furthermore, it closely aligns with the National Occupational Standards established by LLUK, empowering learners to acquire the expertise, skills, and comprehension needed for assessing vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding across diverse settings such as workshops, classrooms, or alternative training environments. The program facilitates learners in showcasing their capabilities through the submission of evidence derived from their work activities.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress into employment as an assessor or onto to relevant qualifications such as Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
The OTHM Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement consists of 2 mandatory units for a combined total of 10 credits.
- Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (4 credits)
- Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding (6 credits)
The qualification is designed as flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time and distance learning. The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, online by approved centres only.
All units in this qualification undergo internal assessment by the center and external verification by OTHM. These qualifications are criterion-referenced, contingent upon the attainment of specified learning outcomes.
Attaining a ’pass’ for a unit necessitates learners to present evidence showcasing their fulfillment of all learning outcomes and adherence to standards outlined in the assessment criteria. The Assessor is responsible for making the determination that learners have successfully met these criteria.
The Assessor should furnish an audit trail, outlining the process through which the judgement regarding learners’ overall achievement was reached.
